Summary : The site of a post mill built in 1789 and in use until 1923. It was pulled down in 1965. Between 1998 and 2006 it was rebuilt, using some of the original parts and is now positioned 150 yards from its original position.
More information : The site of a post mill built in 1789 and in use until 1923. It was pulled over in 1965 and in 1998 was believed to have been under repair. (1) Pastscape Feedback recieved on 15/11/06 by Adrian Marshall: Comments on Chinnor Windmill: It is being rebuilt 150yds from its original position by volunteers supported by Chinnor parish Council, who recovered some of the parts when it was pulled down in 1966 to make way for housing. The buck is now mostly rebuilt, and sits alongside its trestle awaiting the `big lift`. Verified at http://www.windmillworld.com/uk/millsdaypast.htm and summary subsequently amended.
