[Centred SU 229515] Tumuli [NR]. (1)
Barrow E: SU 22905147 Collingbourne Ducis 9, a bowl barrow 32 paces in diameter 7ft high. (2) Excavated by W.C Lukis (Barrow WCL 4) who located a primary crounched inhumation with its right arm and hands missing. It was covered by a cairn and mound. The barrow had been enlarged in the late Bronze Age when secondary interments were added, these consisted of 13 cremations, three of which were in urns - one of which had been inverted. (3)
Barrow E: Collingbourne Ducis 9, a bowl barrow one metre high with a 0.3 metre deep ditch surviving in the north quadrant. The barrow had been much disturbed by fox holes. Surveyed at 1:2500 (4)

A bowl barrow with a deep ditch in the north-west quadrant, and an overall diameter of 38 metres. Partial excavations in the 19th century located one primary inhumation and ten secondary cremations. (6) |
