Summary : Originally a terminus station, Lambeth North was opened as Kennington Road on 10th March 1906 by the Baker Street and Waterloo Railway on its line from Baker Street to Kennington Road. It was superceded by the Elephant and Castle as the new terminus in August of the same year. At the same time the station was renamed Westminster Bridge Road before being renamed Lambeth (North) 11 years later. It was further renamed Lambeth North circa 1928. |
