The agger of the Roman road is visible as earthworks on air photographs and transcribed as part of the Hadrian's Wall NMP project. It extends for 180 metres and is up to 8 metres wide from NY 6802 6542 to NY 6819 6642. There has been re-use of the road in post medieval times associated with adjacent extraction and quarrying (see NY 66 NE 333, UID 1392311) . The subtle scarps recorded by the RCHME field section were not always evident on air photographs. This record incorporates several other records recorded by RCHME field section (see general associations). (3) |
