There was here a small cell of Spalding with three monks, a secular chaplain, and a prior; it came to an end in 1220."(a) (1) An unsigned write-up in Alkborough Church states - "Benedictine Monks, who lived in a small monastic establishment that stood at the south end of the Village where the Magdalen College Farm Buildings now are"... College Farm survives at SE 8812 2160 but shows no material evidence of antiquity. (2)
