More information : (TQ 33598076) 351 Trinity Square, Inner Circle Railway, 1882 During excavations for the District Railway foundations of buildings were found, together with a red tessellated pavement on a bed of concrete supported by a substructure of oak piling. With the piling were the roots of oak trees, suggesting that there had been a clearance of woodland before the building was erected. 'A wall, a platform or way on two sides, a gutter and some ducts' were also seen.
