Milestone on the south side of the A4136, recorded on the OS 1st-3rd edition 25" maps of c.1880, c.1900 and c.1925, as 'M.S. Monmouth 4'. {Source Works 5134, 5136 & 5138.}
1983 - The site was visited by J. Colombo of Gloucestershire County Council Archaeology Service, who observed it to be almost opposite the longstone, falling back into the hedge and in need of re-setting. It is one of a number along this road, possibly a toll route. {Pers. comm. J. Colombo.}
1991 - In FC compt 600j. {Source Work 2610.}
2002 - Shown as 'MS' on the modern OS Land-Line data held on COGIS. {Source Work 6596.}
