Summary : An inscribed 3rd century Roman milestone, presumably from the Stanegate, was found built into a culvert under the Newcastle-Carlisle road a quarter of a mile west of Fell End farm during reconstruction in February 1932, and removed to the Newcastle Museum.

An inscribed 3rd C. Roman milestone, presumably from the Stanegate,
was found built into a culvert under the Newcastle-Carlisle road
a quarter of a mile west of Fell End farm during reconstruction
in February 1932, and removed to the Newcastle Museum. (2)
