| More information : A winding ditch and bank and possible orchard rig and furrow are visible on lidar images at approximately SO 2540 4488, roughly 200m north of Priory Farm (NRHE 104909). It is likely to have been a wood bank marking the edge of a small wood abutting possible medieval field boundaries (NRHE 1616893) as depicted on 1st and 2nd edition six-inch OS maps, and it could also have functioned as an old route from the Priory to the Church (1570570). The wood was later cleared in the earlier 20th century, by which point the ditch and bank functioned as a field boundary enclosing a possible small orchard. (1-2) |
