Summary : A probable Roman cemetery consisting of a number of cremation urns was found in 1825 during road widening at Lexden Hill. Two small gold rings were found.

A great number of Roman urns were found in 1825 during the
widening of the road at Lexden Hill. Two small gold rings,
which are now in the possession of G. Preston, were found in two
of the urns. (2)
