Scheduled (2)

The above section of road was visible as earthworks on air photographs and transcribed as part of Hadrian's Wall NMP. The section which is 5 metres wide, extends for 90 metres from NY 6910 6564 to NY 6919 6566. To the north and south are ditches, which have been used as post medieval trackways (see NY 66 NE 364, 1393450) and are consequently fairly incised. These may have been part of the original Roman road ditches. The ridge and furrow was not visible on available air photographs.
