Summary : Infirmary at St Augustine's Abbey constructed during the early 12th century with later additions. Excavated 1903-1907 but has now been covered up again and the area used a playing field. The main walls are visible as parch-marks in the summer. The infirmary hall ran north-south and was eight bays long with an aisle on the east with a chapel on its south east side. New refectory buildings were added in the 1270's and other buildings by the late middle ages.

C12 date. To this various subsidiary buildings were added in the
C14 and C15. Its foundations were fully excavated in 1900-1907 by
St John Hope and S Evans and now lie below the playing fields. (1-8)
