Summary : Commemorative monument recording fall of a meteorite, erected 1799.
More information : TA 038721. Monument commemorating the fall of a meteorite at Wold Newton on December 13th 1795, erected in 1799 by Edward Topham. The monument is built of brick and measures 4ft square by approx. 25 ft high. The brick is off-set at plinth and cornice level and the upper part of the structure tapers to a pyramidal stone cap; a commemorative panel with inscription is set into one face. Scheduled.
