(SX 61186802) Cairn (NR) (1)

A small barrow, 9 feet in diameter, lies 20 feet and 30o west of
south from the cist (SX 66 NW 3) on Great Gnat's Head. This barrow
was carefully examined, and proved to cover a circular, carefully
paved area, while beneath the flat paving stones lay a large flat
stone which closely resembled the cover stone on a cist. This stone,
however, rested on the "calm" or subsoil everywhere, and covered
neither a pit in the "calm" nor a cist. (2)

A small heather covered cairn, situated on a slight west slope at
430m OD. It is 3.0m in diameter and 0.3m high with a small hollow in
the centre.

Surveyed at 1:10000 on PFD. (3)
