Monument Number 1331080

Hob Uid: 1331080
Location :
Hampshire
Hart
Greywell, Odiham
Grid Ref : SU7260051800
Summary : Extra-mural settlement located in a field to the east of Odiham Castle.
More information : SU726518. A contour survey was undertaken in the field immediately to the east of Odiham Castle. Clearly the field has never been ploughed, and house platforms are evident. Two linear features meet at right-angles, one of which may be the original approach to the castle. The are has been disturbed by the construction of the Bassingstoke Canal. It is thought that the features represent a large extra-mural settlement, probably Medieval. (1)
