Summary : Possible site of Early Medieval to Medieval settlement associated with Ewyas Harold Castle, suggested by finds of early medieval and medeival pottery.
More information : Exposure of sealed occupation deposit 0.3m deep during trenching by the Welsh Water Authority within enclosure immediately SE of castle (see SO 32 NE 1), containing burnt stone and clay, charcoal, animal bone and medieval pottery. (1) (SO 38522863). Possible site of primary settlement, within outer bailey of castle. (2)
