The features described in authority 1 fall within the area mapped from aerial photographs by both RCHME's Salisbury Plain Training Area NMP and EH's Stonehenge WHS Mapping Project, but have not been recorded by either survey. The source of authority 1 appears to be an entry in the Wiltshire SMR, which cites aerial photographic evidence. Examination of the relevant photographs indicates that the linear features apparently referred to by the SMR are almost certainly of recent agricultural origin. (2-3) |
