SU 1378 4224: Amesbury 101. A levelled bowl barrow 99ft in diameter. Excavated in 1924 when an empty cist was found. (2)
Passmore found "many years ago" (in 1940) a large collection of natural flints of odd shapes from this barrow. They had apparently been chosen for their curious projecting knobs and legs. They were found low in the centre of the barrow and then reburied. (3)
This site cannot be identified on the ground. The field was recently seeded with winter wheat and the young shoots may obliterate any soil marks. (4)
