This area of hardstanding and concrete roadway appears to be closely related to the camp site at TA 2045 4647. It is situated at the southern end of Hornsea and is a circular area of hardstanding from which a road leads out of the site. The site was plotted from aerial photographs by the Fortress Studies Group, but when it was visited during the Holderness Survey in 1992 no trace of the site remained. (1-1a)
The monument is also visible as an upstanding structure on air photographs examined as part of the Rapid Coastal Assessment Survey of the Yorkshire and Humber Estuary. (2)
