More information : TA 2089 4797. Road block. This simple road block was intended to slow tank movements in and around Hornsea after an invasion. It took the form of two reinforced concrete anti-tank blocks, which were positioned in such a way as to restrict the width of Marine Drive, which is the main road on the promenade. (1-1a) The monument is also visible as upstanding structures on air photographs examined as part of the Rapid Coastal Assessment Survey of the Yorkshire and Humber Estuary. (2) Simple road block intended to slow tank movements in and around Hornsea after an invasion. It took the form of two reinforced concrete anti-tank blocks, which were positioned in such a way as to restrict the width of Marine Drive, which is the main road on the promenade. (3)
