Summary : The Old Hospital Block at the Tower of London was built as two houses in 1718 to accommodate Ordnance clerks. It is of Flemish bond brickwork and of three storeys with basement and attic. The building later became used as the hospital for the Tower garrison. The northern part of the building was dismantled following serious structural damage sustained during a 1940 air raid. The remaining part of the building has more recently been converted into flats to house Tower of London officials. The building is listed together with the terrace to the front of the building and its iron railings.
