Summary : A World War II type 24 pillbox located beside Shoreham Airport on the west bank of the River Adur. The pillbox was constructed in 1940-41, is built of brick and reinforced concrete and is hexagonal on plan. It measures 2.15 metres by 2.18 metres internally and has four embrasures. The pillbox formed part of the airfield defences to Shoreham Airport. A field visit in 1998 found the pillbox to be extant. This pillbox was also mapped from historical aerial photographs. |

The structural remains of this pillbox were mapped from historical aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: South Downs NMP project. (2)
