Full description

1. Cylindrical top quern stone of lava from Alconbury also Roman coffin. There does not seem to be any further mention of the coffin. The quern stone was said to be presented to Huntingdon Museum by a Miss Camegy, but there is no reference to the location of the coffin.
2. The quern stone was transferred to the Norris Museum.
3. The present occupant of Alconbury House could offer no further information.
4. Upper stone of a quern, cylindrical, of lava, radial grooves on grinding face with part of iron rynd held in position with lead. Two depressions at opposite points on the upper face. Diameter28Omm, height 50mm.
5. The Roman sarcophagus in front of the door of Alconbury House (in the trees) was found between Woolley and Buckworth. It had bones inside, and the skeleton of a horse on the top of it. The remains of Mr. Rust's parrot are now inside it.
