Full description
1. Sawtry HEFA test pit 6 (2014) was located along Fen Lane. The earliest pottery sherds recovered are of Stamford ware dated to the late Saxon or medieval period. Medieval sandy ware and Shelly ware was also recovered. Some Late Medieval Oxidized ware was also present.
