1. Archaeological investigation in Fenstanton as part of the A14 road improvement scheme identified a Bronze Age mixed cremation and inhumation cemetery in the southern part of the site.

The evidence comprised three surviving inhumations and over 50 cremation burials. Two crouched inhumations were buried in the same grave, one of which was radiocarbon dated to the Middle Bronze Age (c.1400-1200 BC). The cremations were tentatively interpreted as a later phase of activity with one cremation cutting into an inhumation. The majority of the cremations were un-urned and the remains heavily degraded. Finds were limited to a small quantity of poorly fired ceramic fragments, a bronze object thought to be a spear tip or rapier fragment and an amber bead.
