Full description
1. Cropmarks of an irregular rectilinear ditched enclosure with an internal ring ditch, probably the remains of a small later prehistoric or Roman settlement enclosure which is visible on aerial photographs at TL 1828 7740. The enclosure is polygonal with straight sides and a mixture of curved and angled corners. It has an inner hut circle with a suggestion of a small rectangular annexe. The site lies adjacent to the extensive remains of a probable Iron Age or Roman settlement also seen as cropmarks on aerial photographs. The cropmark remains of levelled medieval ridge and furrow can be seen extending throughout the field.
