  • SHINE: Bottisham Lode, first recorded by name in 1729 but existed since the late 12th century. It is an artificial water course extending in a north-west direction from Lode to Horingsea

Full description

R1, R2, Lock, of 'flash' type, has white brick retaining walls, floor paved with stone flags and a timber gate with cast-iron fittings and hoisting equipment. It was built in 1875 and is a rare survivor of its type.
O1, The timber was demolished in 1968.
