Full description
A Scheduled courtyard house sketched and described by the IAM (h1) as being not less than 18m long and 12m wide and having walls showing as low mounds 0.3m to 1.0m high. Several doorways still retain orthostat jambs. The IAM plan shows that the structure consisted of four rooms opening onto a central courtyard. The entrance to the courtyard house is on the east. This house was also sketched at 1:1250 by the OS fieldwalker (h2), who shows its overall dimensions as 25m E-W and 18m N-S. Dense vegetation made it unapproachable in 1986 (h4). It is part of the courtyard house settlement at Mulfra Vean (16180).
