Full description

Christian Lilly's map of Pendennis Castle in 1715 shows what appears to be gardens - centred at SW 8257 3194, and at SW 8264 3170 behind Crab Quay battery (see PRN 18709.53) - on the NE slopes of Pendennis Point (2). Other gardens which may have been officer's pleasure gardens, are recorded to the west (see PRN 18709.55). The gardens on the NE side of the headland were extended in the early/mid C19 (see prn 18709.65).
