The settlement of Treludderow is first recorded in 1284 (b1). The name is Cornish and contains the element tre 'estate, farmstead' (which implies a settlement of early medieval origin), and an uncertain second element (b2). By 1327, the settlement had become sub-divided (24044 and 24045).
