Full description

WC Borlase records the find of an urn which stood mouth upwards inside the cist (30668.1) excavated by him in 1863, in a cairn (30668) at Watch Croft. It contained calcined bones and a small flint disc, which was smashed by a workman (b1). Abercromby in 1912 describes the urn as late Bronze Age with cord marking (b5) and Parchett classifies the urn as class G, late Bronze Age, Deverel-Rimbury influence after 750 BC (b7).
