Full description
The south-western egg-shaped room of courtyard house 30696.2 was demonstrated by the 1:200 CCRA survey in 1982 to have been originally a freestanding hut circle. Its pointed end is to the south and it is 7.1m long by approx 6.0m wide internally. Its principle entrance was to the east where one jamb survives to 1.5m high and there is also a rear, north-west entrance. The hut circle was sub-divided, probably after the courtyard house was abandoned, by a low wall of earthfast stones (h4, b8-b10).
