Full description

Hut first shown on 1962 OS map. Surveyed by Fletcher in 1973 (h1) and from OS air photos. Re-surveyed by Quinnell in 1976 (h2) and plotted at 1:2500 by RCHM (h3, b1). A hut circle 7.4m in diameter with a double faced wall consisting of large lining slabs, some coursed boulders and stone infill. The wall is 1.5m wide and 0.7m high with one upright slab 1.4m high. A stone covered platform, 0.4m high, occupies part of the interior and a 1.4m square stone filled annexe is built on to the east side. The entrance is on the south-east side linked to 3158.02 by the walling of a crude enclosure (h2). One of at least forty-four well preserved hut circles on the southern side of Leskernick Hill.
