Full description

Hut first shown on 1962 OS map. Surveyed by Fletcher in 1973 (h1) and from OS air photos. Re-surveyed by Quinnell in 1976 (h2) and plotted at 1:2500 by RCHM (h3, b1). A hut circle 7.5m in diameter and levelled 0.6m into the slope. It has a substantial double-faced boulder/slab wall up to 2.0m wide on the northern side and 0.8m high. Some slabs stand to a height of 1.2m and the thick wall may incorporate a chamber. The well defined entrance on the southern side opens into a round annexe which is 3.6m in diameter internally and is constructed of slabs and boulders (h2). One of at least forty-four well preserved hut circles to the southern side of Leskernick Hill.
