Full description
The Tamerton Incline on the Bude Canal was 360ft long, with a descent of 56ft. The transfer basins at either end survive in an overgrown and ruinous condition, but the incline plane itself is now in pasture with little surviving evidence for the original structure. At the incline head, the entrance to the wheelpit is still in existence, though the wheelpit itself has collapsed (b1).
