Full description
A boundary bank forming the north boundary of a field system and associated settlement (1929), running along a high ridge of open close-cropped moorland. In the 1980s this bank was surveyed from the air and on the ground by the RCHM (h1, h2, b1) and found to be an impressive reave, running south west across the moor, running from SX 1038 7643 to SX 1121 7667 and measuring 865m long. It is a turf covered stony bank 1.9m wide by 0.5m high. The bank is of similar proportions and construction to the four field banks (1929.3) which are connected to it but their relationship cannot be ascertained from present ground evidence. The boundary bank has been stripped of stone for part of its length, and at its east end becomes lost in an area of surface stone digging (h2).
