Full description
A boundary associated with a settlement and field system (1929) situated on a high ridge of open close-cropped moorland. In the 1980s this bank was surveyed from the air and on the ground by the RCHM (h1, h2, b1) and found to be a turf covered stony bank, 1.0m wide and 0.2m high, which has been stripped out for much of its length. The bank runs west-east for 260m from SX 1049 7656 to SX 1074 7656. It is connected at its east end to the long linear bank (1929.1) and is of similar proportions and construction to the latter and the field bouundaries to the south (1929.3), but the exact relationship between these is unclear (h2).
