Full description
The three early 19th century quarries on the s slope of kit hill summit plateau produced sufficient worked stone to warrant the provision of a track dug down to the harder rab and levelled. There are branch tracks leading into the quarries from the main track, some of which have been overwhelmed by dumps, which provide some relative chronology of the quarry complex surveyed as part of kit hill field survey (h1, b2).
