Full description

A prefabricated officers' mess built in 1903 subsequently replaced by a permanent building in 1904. Burnt down in 1908 by druken soldiers when the Miners' Militia disbanded. Subsequently rebuilt as a public house. It is said to be incorporated in a C20 bungalow on this site (b21).
