Full description
A mill was recorded as "newe erected called Bossegerne mill" in 1627 (b1) and two mills with waterwheels (30705.1 and 2) are recorded here, very close together, on the 1834 map of Borlase's lands (b2) and on the 1840 Tithe Map (b3). In1861 Bosigran stamps were built on the site (33247) and these corn or grist mills appear to have been abandoned. It is possible to use these early maps (b2 and b3), with the 1st Edition 1:2500 OS map c1880, and a 1:2500 plan of the site made in 1982 by the National Trust and CCRA to identify some parts of the original corn mill complex (h1-2, b5-8). A number of buildings (30705.3) to the north and north-west of the mills shown on the early maps (b2-3) may also survive as low ruins (b8).
