Full description

Two small reservoirs in the bed of the stream between Bosigran and Rosemergy, shown on the 1842 tithe map (b1) but made redundant by 1876 (b2) were planned at 1:1000 by a nt team in 1984 (h1, b3 - 5). Both reservoirs survive as dried out level platforms (of silt) retained by slight banks reinforced at their bases by large granite boulders. Both have been breached by the stream at their centres. The dam of the southern reservoir is 18m long and 1.1m high. They probably supplied water fo Porthmoina Mill (30793) or its predecessor (32231)(b5). "Stamps pool" is annotated next to these pools on the Tithe Map c1840. These pools were propbably replaced by a single larger reservoir to the south (30793.70).
