Full description

WC Borlase excavated Bosporthennis quoit (30729) in 1872 and records the find of an urn. Resting on the natural soil of the floor of the cist or chamber (30729.1) was a deposit of burnt bones, some of them adhering to the fragments of a globular vessel. The pottery was of greenish black colour and half the thickness of the average cremation urn (b3). Russell in 1971 lists the find of sherds and calcined bones at Bosporthennis quoit (b7).
