Full description

The findspot of a gold hoard is on recent OS editions (b4). It is known as the Towednack hoard, which was found at Amalveor. Hawkes recorded that it is a late BA goldsmith's hoard, comprising a large torc, a triple torc, a pair of bracelets, an unfinished pair of bracelets, a bent rod of lozenge section and a coiled rod of irregular section (b1). Hawkes siting of the hoard, which is evidently derived from the finder, place it in a boundary bank. A field visit by the OS revealed that in 1975 the bank was still discernable within a pasture field. It is part of an ancient field system. The hoard is now in the British museum: Truro museum possesses electro type copies (h1).
