Summary

All that survives of an engine house built in 1871 to house a thirty inch pumping engine are the east gable and the chimney stack.

Full description

Built in 1871 to house a thirty inch pumping engine made by G Eustice of Hayle (b15, b16), only the east gable and the chimney stack, two thirds granite, one third brick, survive intact. The western bob wall and the west ends of the north and south sides were pulled down into the shaft (33236.08) when its collar collapsed sometime after the 1920’s (b16). The rectangular boiler house stands ruined against the north wall with room for one boiler only (b16). Re-pointed in 1984 and new oak lintels have been inserted in the openings at the same time (b16).
