Full description

The principle pumping and winding shaft of Carn Galver mine (33236) was capped in the late 1970's for safety reasons (b16). It had formed part of the mine from at least 1834 to 1876 (b4, b7, b8, b9). Two pumping engine houses (33236.01 and .03) were arranged out to the south east and north-west respectively and a whim engine house (33236.02) was built a few metres to its north-east (b16).
