Full description

Mill Farm (33244) was reached by a sinuous lane whose line is determined partly by the shapes of the pre-existing fields whose hedges it runs beside. Planned at 1:1000 by CCRA/NT in 1982 (h1, b6-b8). The lane is 140m long and at its narrowest it is 2.5m wide, sufficient for a vehicle, broadening to 7.5m at bends and when it opens into the settlement. Dry stone walling with an eastern ditch along some of its length (b9). The lane is presumably as old as the settlement it serves, perhaps early C17 (b9).
