Full description

The leat serving the southern waterwheel of Bosigran stamps appears, from aerial photographs (p1) to be a continuation of that (33246.02) which had previously served the earlier stamping mill (33246) to the south. It is not the leat which served the grist mills (30705) at Bosigran from the C17. It is recorded 1st Edition 1:2500 OS map of 1876 and was partly planned at 1:200 by the National trust in 1982 (h1, b3-5) and was visited by Herring in 1986 (h2, b6). The leat is flat bottomed 1.7m to 2.0m wide, 0.2m to 0.5m deep, and has banks on both sides. It stops abruptly 17m short of the wheelpit and was presumably continued on launders (b6).
