Full description

Waterwheel (33247.03) is recorded 1st Edition 1:2500 OS map of 1876 (b2) and is probably mentioned in 1864 by Spargo (b1) it probably worked a set of tin stamps here at the north end of Bosigran stamping mill (33247). A dressing floor (33247.05) to the north clearly relates to the stamping mill. It was planned at 1:200 by the National Trust in 1982 (h1, b4-6) and was visited by Herring in 1986 (h2, b7). The stamps would have been in the area defined to the east by the wheelpit, to the north the ore delivery platform (33247.1) and to the west by the higher spalling floor (33247.12). The area is now overwhelmed by rubble (b7).
