Full description

A linear earthwork of medieval origin runs roughly north south across Godrevy Towans and forms part of the present parish boundary, as well as the head dyke of the south east of the Crane Godrevy strip field system. The earthwork is mentioned in the 1603 and when the parish boundary was described as running from Gwithian Bridge 'by a path and banke unto the north sea cliffe'. The bank is the surviving remnant of an up hill hollow way from Crane Godrevy to Fishing Cove, although the path is untraceabale (1).

The earthwork was sectioned in two places by Thomas (1), who listed the earthwork as extant in 1965 (2) and 1970 (3).
