Full description

A small group of two or possibly three cairns, on the high open moorland of Manor Common. One (1642.1) was recorded in 1840 (b1) and subsequently forgotten before rediscovery, along with 1642.2, in 1973 (h1). The two definite cairns were surveyed by the RCHM in 1984 (h3, h4, b4), but the more doubtful example (1642.3) remains unsurveyed. Cairns 1642.1 and 1642.2 are marked on 1984 OS map (b3). The two certain cairns are simple low mounds or platforms and one has traces of a kerb.
